After first quarter of season, here’s what numbers Raiders players are on pace for

New, comments

Some Raiders on pace for league best seasons. Some are falling well behind what was expected of them.

NFL: New York Jets at Oakland Raiders Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

For many Raiders players it’s been a rough first four games. For others it’s been pretty solid. Throughout an NFL season, stats will ebb and flow and an average will come from it. Let’s see how a few Raiders players have played so far should their season continue as it has so far.

Passing

Derek Carr 3012 yards, 26 TD’s, 7 INT’s

Notes:

This would be a career low in passing yards for Carr and that’s if he is able to return after this week.

Rushing

Marshawn Lynch 180 carries, 604 yards, 3.4 ypc, 4 TD’s

Jalen Richard 60 carries, 366 yards, 6.1 ypc, 4 TD’s

DeAndre Washington 44 carries, 112 yards, 2.5 ypc, 0 TD’s

Cordarrelle Patterson 28 carries, 275 yards, 9.8 ypc, 4 TD’s

Notes:

These are currently nowhere near the numbers we expected from anyone. It’s nearly half of what I expected from Marshawn in terms of yards and a far cry from the 10 TD’s I predicted from him. It’s also big steps back for Richard and Washington

Receiving

Michael Crabtree 65 catches, 852 yards, 12 TD’s, 4 drops

Jared Cook 64 catches, 680 yards, 4 TD’s, 4 drops

Amari Cooper 48 catches, 440 yards, 4 TD’s, 28 drops

Seth Roberts 36 catches, 352 yards, 4 TD’s

Cordarrelle Patterson 36 catches, 192 yards, 0 TD’s

Notes:

Obviously the stat that sticks out here is Amari Cooper’s drops. You’d have to assume he won’t continue on his fevered pace of 1.75 drops per game cuz 28 drops is insane. He gets even half that and it may be time to sit him down.

Yards from scrimmage

Marshawn Lynch 716

Jalen Richard 688

Cordarrelle Patterson 468

Kick returns

Cordarrelle Patterson 28 returns, 832 yards, 29.7 ypr

Notes:

Patterson’s 29.7 yards per punt return is the highest in the league among those with at least 5 kick returns. And among 2016 returners with at least 20 returns it would be second only to himself (31.7).

Punt returns

Jalen Richard 28 returns, 120 yards, 4.3 ypr

Notes:

That’s not good.

Punts

Marquette King 76 punts, 3996 yards, 52.6 ypp, 47.5 net ypp

Notes:

Both King’s punting average and net punting average are on an historic pace. Read more about that here.

Kicks

Giorgio Tavecchio 28 attempts, 28 made, 8 of 8 from 50+, 100%

Notes:

Tavecchio has not missed a kick this season. He’s a perfect 7-for-7. Read more about his season here.

Linebackers

Cory James 128 tackles, 84 solo

Marquel Lee 48 tackles, 32 solo

Nicholas Morrow 40 tackles, 32 solo

Tyrell Adams 36 tackles, 24 solo

Notes:

James in on pace for the most combined tackles by a Raiders player since Kirk Morrison had 133 in 2009.

Defensive line

Khalil Mack 92 combined, 72 solo, 28 TFL, 16.0 sacks, 32 QB hits

Mario Edwards 40 tackles, 28 solo, 12.0 sacks

Bruce Irvin 44 tackles, 28 solo, 4.0 sacks

Denico Autry 40 tackles, 16 solo, 2.0 sacks

Justin Ellis 36 tackles, 12 solo, 2.0 sacks

Eddie Vanderdoes 16 tackles, 12 solo, 0 sacks

Notes:

Mack is on pace for his best sack season of his career and 16.0 sacks would have led the league last season. He is also on pace to have the second most tackles for loss of the season. Mario Edwards Jr (3.0 sacks) has already surpassed his previous career high in sacks (2.0).

Defensive backs

Karl Joseph 104 tackles, 80 solo, 0 INT, 4 PD’s,

TJ Carrie, 84 tackles, 72 solo, 0 INT, 8 PD’s

Reggie Nelson 88 tackles, 52 solo, 0 INT, 8 PD’s

David Amerson 44 tackles, 32 solo, 0 INT, 16 PD’s

Sean Smith 25 tackles, 25 solo, 0 INT, 0 PD’s

Gareon Conley 49 tackles, 35 solo, 7 PD’s

Notes:

Joseph’s tackle numbers are on pace for the most by a Raiders DB since Charles Woodson (113) in 2014. Thus far the Raiders have not intercepted a pass this season whether by a defensive back or otherwise. Amerson is on pace to match his pass defended total from last season (16) which was in the top ten.
