Already banged up Raiders add injury to insult

The inactive list for the Raiders going against the Ravens today had all bad news. Every one of their four questionable players would not play. The already long list of wounded would grow considerably longer as they were beat up literally and figuratively by the Ravens.

Four potential starters were watching in street clothes Sunday for the Raiders — quarterback Derek Carr (back), right guard Gabe Jackson (foot), and cornerbacks David Amerson (concussion) and Gareon Conley (shin).

Three more starters would join them throughout the game and none would return. Linebacker Cory James left with a knee injury, linebacker Marquel Lee with ankle injury, and fullback Jamize Olawale with a concussion.

Lee’s injury looks the most potentially serious. The fifth round rookie laid on the field for a few minutes before being helped off by trainers. Shortly after heading to the sideline, he was carted off the field.

Reserve cornerback Antonio Hamilton would leave with a knee injury to give the Raiders just three active corners in the game.

With the way the Raiders have been playing of late, and with EJ Manuel starting at quarterback, the Raiders needed things to go well and for the rest of the starters ot be at their best. They did not. And being without 7 starters only added injury to insult as the Raiders dropped their third straight by a score of 30-17.
