Raiders-Patriots injury report: David Amerson still not practicing

New, comments
NFL: Los Angeles Chargers at Oakland Raiders Sergio Estrada-USA TODAY Sports

Not good news for the hopes the Raiders can field a healthy secondary against the Patriots top offense Sunday. Two days after Gareon Conley was sent to injured reserve, David Amerson was still not practicing with his foot injury.

Last week the Raiders had just three healthy corners and didn’t add anyone either as a free agent or from the practice squad for depth. Their only move was to activate rookie safety Obi Melifonwu who played 7 snaps.

Today the Raiders were still fielding just TJ Carrie, Sean Smith, and Dexter McDonald at cornerback.

Amerson was the only player missing from practice due to injury. Those who were limited were Gabe Jackson (ankle), Cory James (knee), Marshall Newhouse (hip/quad), and Jamize Olawale (hamstring).

Just three players were missing for the Patriots Wednesday: wide receiver Chris Hogan (shoulder), right tackle Marcus Cannon (ankle), and special teamer Matthew Slater (hamstring).

Hogan and Cannon were both injured in Week 8 versus the L.A. Chargers, while Slater aggravated an injury that kept him out of the season’s first four games.
