Raiders-Broncos final injury report: David Amerson out, Gabe Jackson questionable

New, comments

Another shorthanded week at corner for the Raiders.

NFL: Indianapolis Colts at Oakland Raiders Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

A week after David Amerson looked good enough running on the side to make the trip to Mexico City as ‘Doubtful’, he is back to being ruled officially OUT against the Broncos in Oakland.

Amerson has been nursing a foot injury. Since he has been out the Raiders have fielded just three cornerbacks — TJ Carrie, Sean Smith, and Dexter McDonald — while oddly starting rookie safety at cornerback in just his second game since returning from injured reserve.

It would be ill-advised to try that again, so one would hope/suspect the starters this week would be Carrie and Smith and perhaps calling up Breon Borders from the practice squad would be a good idea as well. Then again, that’s a move they should’ve made three weeks ago, so best not to hold your breath that they’ve learned their lesson.

Gabe Jackson is also questionable for the game with an ankle injury after missing practice all week. Should he not be able to go, Jon Feliciano would take his place. Feliciano is the team’s utility reserve interior lineman. He has replaced Jackson once before this season and held up well.

The Broncos are looking fairly healthy with no one OUT and only Domata Peko missing practice Friday due to illness.
