We are now two weeks into Pro Bowl fan voting and two weeks from the deadline to vote. At the halfway point, the NFL released their list of the top vote getters at each position, and a Raiders player made the list.
As of two days ago, coming in with 79,200 votes was punter Marquette King.
As of right now, he is second in the AFC in both punt averaging (49.1) and net average (44.2). Both are behind Titans punter Bret Kern. King’s 22 punts inside the 20, 11 fair catches, and 4 touchbacks are all better than Kern.
Should King finish as the leader in votes and make the Pro Bowl, it would be the first of his career.
Only the leading vote-getters by conference have been released by the league, so it’s hard to say how close other Raiders players are to getting the most votes at their respective position. But you can see all the nominated Raiders here.
Pro Bowl voting ends December 14 with the Pro Bowl team to be announced on December 19. Keep in mind, the votes are one third of the total deciding factor in who makes the Pro Bowl. The other 2⁄3 is the players and coaches.
