Three of the four AFC West teams blew out their opponents today. The one that did not was the Raiders who were on the receiving end of one of those blowouts in Kansas City. That meant either the Chiefs would re-claim sole possession of the division or the Chargers would retain their tie. Both teams earned their right to the division.
In Los Angeles, the Chargers continued their hot streak, winning their fourth straight game and seventh in their last nine games. They did so in convincing fashion, beating Washington 30-13. And just like the game in KC, it wasn’t even really that close.
The win sets up another huge game in Kansas City, this time for sole possession of the division lead, and this time it could be the game that decides it. Whoever wins would take a one-game lead in the division with neither team facing a winning team over the finale two games.
It’s actually pretty amazing to think we are here right now considering the Chiefs began the season 5-0 and the Chargers began the season 0-4.
