For all the mystery and intrigue leading up to the Raiders game in Kansas City Sunday with regard to whether or not Amari Cooper would play, in the end it was for nothing.
Coop did start the game despite practicing just one day that week with an sprained ankle. He would see just one target in the game. It was midway through the second quarter on a deep ball up the left sideline. It was clear on that play, he was not 100% as the defender easily stayed with him up the sideline as the pass sailed incomplete.
Later on that same drive, on Cooper’s 15th snap of the game, DeAndre Washington was given the ball on a run out left with Cooper used as a blocker. He was rolled up on and he writhed on the turf in pain holding that same injured ankle. He eventually hobbled off the field and didn’t return.
With three games remaining, it’s possible we may have seen the last of Amari Cooper in what is, outside of one game, one he’d probably like to forget.
