After a couple weeks of attempting to play with his injured knee, the Raiders have decided to shut down linebacker Cory James for the rest of the season. He will head to injured reserve according to Vic Tafur of The Athletic.

James had started nine games this season in ten appearances at the weakside linebacker spot. His season ends sixth on the team with 56 combined tackles (41 solo).

The play of undrafted rookie Nicholas Morrow likely played a role in the decision to end James’s season now. Morrow has been a bright spot this season and has been second on the team in tackles over the past two weeks filling in for James.

To take James’s spot on the roster, the Raiders have once again called up defensive tackle Darius Latham, according to Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review Journal, who has been back and forth from the practice squad this season, appearing in just one game this season.

Replacing Latham on the practice squad is DE Joby Saint Fleur who was most recently with the Dolphins this offseason.
