With four hours until game time, Raiders Pro Bowl center Rodney Hudson’ status is up in the air. Hudson has come down with an illness and the team has added him to the injury report as officially questionable against the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football.
This could be a pretty sticky situation as his backup, Jon Feliciano, is in the concussion protocol and was questionable on the team’s final injury report Friday. He practiced limited on Thursday and Friday which suggests he’s passed at least the first two stages.
Even if Feliciano were able to step in for Hudson, it’s a big loss for the Raiders. Hudson has been the best pass protecting center in the NFL in his time in Oakland. He and Derek Carr have also developed a lot of chemistry over the past three seasons and Hudson hasn’t missed a game since 2015.
Feliciano has been the team’s backup center the past two seasons, but has never started a game there for the Raiders.
