Today, the Raiders made official the placing of Donald Penn on injured reserve, which Jack Del Rio had announced earlier this week. In addition, they placed Jon Feliciano on injured reserve.
The team added center James Stone from the practice squad this week, with Del Rio saying only that Feliciano’s status was in question. He missed Thursday’s practice with a concussion. He had been questionable with a concussion going into the game, which means he either suffered another concussion, or simply began showing signs of the previous concussion. Either way, it’s important to be cautious, and with two games remaining, they shut him down.
Taking their spots on the roster are linebacker Brady Sheldon and offensive lineman Ian Silberman.
Both players were with the Raiders in training camp. Sheldon is an undrafted rookie, who is being called up from the practice squad. Silberman was on the team’s practice squad much of last season. He was originally selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the sixth round of the 2015 Draft out of Boston College and has played in one career game.
Filling Sheldon’s place on the practice squad is journeyman former undrafted tight end Marcus Lucas.
