Raiders-Chargers injury report: Mario Edwards Jr returns to practice

New, comments
NFL: Oakland Raiders at Buffalo Bills Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Sports

There’s one more chance for these Raiders players to see the field before the end of the season. Among those trying to get back on the field one more time are Mario Edwards Jr and David Amerson.

Edwards missed last week with an ankle injury, while Amerson has missed the past eight weeks. If they had been missing this week, you could end up on injured reserve for the final week. Truth be told, that where Amerson should have been for a while. His foot injury has had him out for more than half the season and being available for the final week isn’t likely to make much of a difference.

Those missing from practice Wednesday were Treyvon Hester, who missed last week with an ankle injury, and Vadal Alexander, who left the the game Monday night with a concussion and didn’t return.

Missing for the Chargers were tight end Jeff Cumberland (illness), running back Melvin Gordon (ankle), and safety Adrian Phillips (ankle).
