It has come to this. These two teams have weaved their way through this season, both going through fits and starts with both winning and losing streaks. But in the land of ‘what have you done for me lately’ it’s the Chargers who are streaking and the Raiders who are fading.

Over the past six games, the Chargers are 5-1 having played themselves into contention for a wild card playoff spot while the Raiders are 2-4 and out of playoff contention.

For that reason, oddsmakers at Bovada.lv have the Chargers as 8-point favorites at home according to Odds Shark.

The Raiders’ current 3-game losing streak is their second such streak of the season. The last time was as 4-game losing streak and the final game was their 1-point loss to the Chargers in week 6. They now sit at 6-9 staring at double digit losses for the first time since 2014.

The opposite has been the case for the Chargers who began their season 0-4 and since then have gone on two winning streaks of 3 and 4 games. They now sit at 8-7 in contention for a playoff spot.

Oddly, the only thing that could work in the Raiders’ favor is this is not your usual road game. In fact, it’s basically a home game for them, heading to Los Angeles where they have a very strong fan contingency. Even while they were in San Diego last season, the coaches were blasting crowd noise in practice to prepare for a road atmosphere against the Raiders. It figures to be far more Raidercentric for this one and the fans will be out of their minds excited to see their Raiders in LA for the first time in nearly a quarter century.

Those fans will lose their minds if the Raiders can buck the odds and spoil the Chargers’ playoff hopes.
