2017 Super Bowl commercial: Budweiser sends message on welcoming immigrants

We have an early frontrunner for best Super Bowl commercial. It comes from Budweiser which has long been known for putting out their best produced ads for the Super Bowl. This year they may have struck on their most topical and important spots ever.

With the recent turmoil caused by the new administration's ban on immigrants from seven predominantly Muslim countries, the principle of welcoming refugees and immigrants is severely threatened. It's what this country is founded upon ie "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free..."

Anheuser Busch sends that message loud and clear, depicting the trek of Adolphus Busch across the Atlantic from Germany with the dream of making beer. Fresh off the boat, he is berated with "You're not wanted here! Go back home!", but finally makes his way to St Louis and is welcomed. That's where he meets Eberhard Anheuser who offers him a beer. Over that beer, Busch shows him his plans to craft a new beer. And the rest, as they say, is history.

There are countless stories like this one of immigrants and refugees doing great things in America. Anheuser Busch thinks it's important to remind everyone of that. Perhaps more important than ever.
