Super Bowl LI Open Thread: Falcons vs. Patriots

New, comments

This one is for all the marbles.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Greetings, Raider Nation! Raiderdamus the Great and Powerful welcomes you to the Super Bowl open thread, better known as the place where you can come to bitch about the Patriots. New England has had the Super Bowl on lockdown for the last decade-plus, but that won't last forever. This may be one of their final shots at getting that elusive fifth Super Bowl.

Atlanta will be the new kid on the block, having only made one Super Bowl previously, and getting blown out by John Elway's Donkeys in the process. This year's Falcons team is orders of magnitude superior to that one, and this should be a far better game.

The Falcons are the best scoring offense in the NFL, while the Patriots are the best scoring defense. This is truly a battle of two juggernauts.

The Great Raiderdamus, of course, won the S&BP staff playoff picks competition. I named the Patriots as Super Bowl champions. But screw that and screw the Patriots.

Falcons win, 35-28.
