Bruce ‘Baby Reggie’ Irvin has begun his recruiting of big name free agents to come to Oakland

New, comments

Since the day Bruce Irvin joined the Raiders last offseason, he has been an aggressive and enthusiastic recruiter to woo free agents to come to Oakland. Today, less than a week until the opening of the free agent negotiating period, he has put on his GM hat once again to convince some top free agents to don the Silver & Black.

He led out with a post on instagram saying “The time has come” with this pic.

Then the recruiting began. The objects of his desire? Patriots middle linebacker Dont’a Hightower and Cardinals defensive end Calais Campbell.

Cardinals recently franchise tagged linebacker Chandler Jones noticed Irvin’s tweet to his teammate and responded.

Then it was back to the full court press for Campbell and Hightower, including a short video from out own Goro Burroughs aka @GipsySafety and ended with the bonus of playing with Khalil Mack, who Irvin dubs a “walking Hall of Famer”.

Irvin picked the right targets for joining the Raiders. There are probably no two free agents out there who would be better suited to upgrade the Raiders defense than Campbell and Hightower.

He actually beat me to the punch as both were to be featured at their respective positions as I continue my Raiders Free Agent Wishlist series.
