Combine day 3 open thread: Linebackers, defensive linemen

New, comments

And now for the show we've all been waiting for...

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Greetings, Raider Nation! It's no secret that the Raiders will be looking for some help in the defensive front seven and attempting to add some beef in the middle. Sunday will see linebackers and defensive linemen hit the field, and the Raiders and their fans will keep a close watch on these units.

There are plenty of good edge rushers to be had in this draft, highlighted by Texas A&M's Myles Garrett who is expected to be the first player taken in the upcoming draft. Also in the edge rusher group are Tennessee's Derek Barnett, Michigan's Taco Charlton and Alabama's Tim Williams.

Edge rusher isn't so much a concern for the Raiders as middle linebacker and defensive tackle. Prominent DT's to work out today include Auburn's Montravious Adams, Alabama's Johnathan Allen, Iowa's Jaleel Johnson, Clemson's Carlos Watkins, Michigan State's Malik McDowell and Florida's Caleb Brantley.

While the top inside linebacker available, Alabama's Reuben Foster, was sent home from the Combine for being a total ass, there is plenty more talent to be seen. Vanderbilt's Zach Cunningham, Florida's Jarrad Davis, Ohio State's Raekwon "Tha Chef" McMillan and Temple's Haason Reddick highlight the class.
