As of last week, the Raiders were reportedly among the teams showing interest in tight end Martellus Bennett. At the time the Patriots were still said to be attempting to bring back Bennett, but that ship has sailed. Wednesday Bennett made it clear via a series of tweets that he would be headed for free agency.
I'm going to miss you Mass-Holes. T'was Fun. Thank you for the good times. To infinity and beyond...

Now with free agency just hours away, another report has come out saying the Raiders are still interested in Bennett and that the feeling is mutual, according to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald.
Martellus Bennett and the Raiders have shown heavy mutual interest in one another, per source.

Bennett is the top tight end target on the market. The Raiders still have Clive Walford who is a former third round pick, but teaming up with Bennett would offer a very formidable one-two punch at tight end in the passing game. The Raiders also have Lee Smith, but he is almost exclusively a blocking tight end.
Is it possible Bennett’s series of tweets came after he had another landing spot? Could that landing spot be Oakland? We’ll soon see.
