Former Raiders CEO Amy Trask becomes CEO of professional 3-on-3 basketball league

New, comments

Since shortly after Amy Trask stepped down as CEO of the Raiders back in 2013 — a position she held for 16 years — she has been on CBS as an NFL analyst. Now the only ever female NFL Chief Executive is getting back to what she does best.

Trask told Silver & Black Pride that she will “focus on the business aspects of a start-up” BIG3 Basketball league along with President and Commissioner Roger Mason Jr.

She comes aboard at the recommendation and request of friend, rapper-turned-actor and self appointed ‘President of the Raider Nation’, Ice Cube, along with entertainment executive Jeff Kwatinetz.

“Everyone knows I’m a die-hard Raiders fan and over the course of my years I’ve gotten to know Amy through the team and know she’s the perfect person to round out our leadership team,” said Ice Cube, who co-founded the league. “She’s one of the most impressive people I’ve ever met. To excel in an environment like those Raiders teams shows me that she’s smart, daring and undaunted by challenges.”

Trask will continue her work as an on-air NFL analyst for CBS.

“The BIG3 shares many qualities with the Raiders - they’re both bold and exciting, with their own brand of attitude,” Trask said in a statement.

The BIG3 boasts they will feature “ bring some of the game’s biggest stars” to a different city each weekend this summer. All four games will take place on the same day in the same venue, so that fans will be able to see their favorite NBA superstars at one time.

The roster of players participating will be headlined by player captains Allen Iverson, Kenyon Martin, Chauncey Billups, Jason Williams, Rashard Lewis, Jermaine O’Neal, Stephen Jackson, Corey Maggette, and Mike Bibby.

The league will tip off June 25 of this year at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn NY. Games will be broadcast on Fox Sports FS1 and FOX this summer.

Tickets for the league opener in Brooklyn can be purchased on ticketmaster.com, Barclayscenter.com, or by calling 800-745-3000. Tickets are also available at the American Express Box Office at Barclays Center.
