At pick 231 — the second of two 7th round picks acquired in trade with the Cardinals to move out of the 6th round -- the Raiders took another tackle in Alabama State’s Jylan Ware.
Well, if you said that, you weren’t alone. Mike Mayock said up until this week he had never heard of Ware either. Mayock said those he spoke with described him as a “313-pound dancing bear”. Ware is listed at 6-8, 295 so he must have put on some weight this offseason.
This pick reminds me of the Anthony Morris pick in 2015 out of Tennessee State. Morris didn’t make the team. Raiders are taking another chance on a small school little known tackle.
