Calvin Johnson spotted at Raiders OTA’s

New, comments

The Raiders’ new offensive coordinator Todd Downing invited a special guest to join the team during OTA’s this week: legendary Detroit Lions receiver Calvin Johnson.

Johnson and Downing spent several seasons together in Detroit and appear to have maintained a solid relationship since that time. Johnson—also know by his alter ego Megatron—was all smiles in a video of OTA’s provided by www.Raiders.com as he chatted with Raiders receivers Michael Crabtree and Amari Cooper.

Megatron, who retired in 2015, should be able to impart some wisdom on the Raiders’ dynamic receiving duo, especially the 22-year-old Cooper, who was voted as the 53rd best player in the NFL by his peers yesterday.

The Raiders’ organization will be hoping that their young receiver can emulate some of the career success of Megatron, who was a six time Pro Bowler, three time All-Pro and led the NFL in receiving twice.

The second day of OTA’s takes place today and they will wrap up Thursday in Alameda, per the Raiders’ website.
