Raiders waive three to make room for three tryout players

With the Raiders right at the 90-player limit, the addition of three tryout players, the Raiders would need to waive three players. They officially made those transactions Monday.

The three players waived were all priority free agent signings immediately following the draft. They were Duke LB Dwayne Norman, Oklahoma Safety Ahmad Thomas, and Oklahoma defensive tackle Jordan Wade.

The new players had announced their signings with the team Sunday evening following the rookie minicamp. They are Faulkner/Florida State defensive end Chris Casher, Wagner linebacker Najee Harris, and Tennessee linebacker LaTroy Lewis.

Here are short bios provided by the Raiders following the signings.

Casher: Played in 40 games over five seasons at Florida State (2012) and Faulkner University (2016)…Career totals include 122 tackles (62 solo), 11.5 sacks, six forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and nine passes defensed.

Harris: Appeared in 40 games over four seasons at Wagner, totaling 156 career tackles…Posted 44 tackles (34 solo), one sack, one fumble recovery and six passes defensed as a senior in 2016.

Lewis: Played in 44 games over four seasons at Tennessee, totaling 77 tackles (45 solo), 4.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and two passes defensed.
