Warriors go for NBA Title at home- Game 5 NBA Finals open thread

New, comments

The Warriors look to add to their trophy case in front of their home fans.

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

The Cavaliers decided not to go down without a fight in Game 4 of the 2017 NBA Finals, scoring an absurd number of first-half points in a blowout of Golden State. However, the Warriors will try to win their second NBA title in three years at Oracle Arena tonight.

Who: Golden State Warriors vs Cleveland Cavaliers

What: NBA Finals Game Five

When: 6:00pm tonight (9pm ET)

Where: Oracle Arena, Oakland, CA

TV: ABC

Series total: Warriors lead 3-1

The Cavs were no match for the tough defense and unprecedented offensive firepower of the Warriors in the first three games. None of those games were particularly competitive, but Cleveland let out their frustrations in Game 4 with their backs against the wall, scoring 86 points in the first half en route to a 137-116 victory on their home court. The Warriors didn't shoot or play poorly, but Cleveland was just on fire and nothing that Golden State did was able to slow them down.

Cleveland was led by point guard Kyrie Irving with 40 points, while Lebron James and Kevin Love scored 31 and 23 points respectively. Kevin Durant led Golden State with 35 points, but he was the only Warrior to eclipse 20 points.

Don't expect tonight to look quite so much like the All-Star Game. Look for Golden State to come out with guns blazing and with tenacious D as they seek to hoist the trophy in front of their home crowd.
