The NFL Top 100 is now complete. The final reveal was the top ten. We knew Mack was going to be in the top ten, but exactly where he would land was the question. In the rankings, which are decided by his NFL peers, Mack landed at number 5.
Here is the top ten:
- Tom Brady
- Von Miller
- Julio Jones
- Antonio Brown
- Khalil Mack
- Aaron Rodgers
- Ezekiel Elliott
- Odell Beckham Jr
- Le’Veon Bell
- Matt Ryan
Mack’s ranking last season was 13 overall which was not high enough for the 15.0 sack season he had that made him a runner-up for Defensive Player of the Year.
Last season, Mack WON the DPOY award and yet somehow Von Miller is ranked ahead of him. Granted, Miller almost single-handedly won the Super Bowl for the Broncos following the 2015 season. That year he was rated below Mack at 15.
Appearing in the Super Bowl looks to weigh heavily on these rankings as Brady, Jones, and Ryan all played in this year’s Super Bowl. So, I suppose, while we’re thinking Mack was too low at number 5, last year’s MVP was at ten, so it could certainly be worse.
Mack leads several Raiders to be named in the NFL Top 100. The others are Derek Carr at 11, Amari Cooper at 53, and Kelechi Osemele at 95.
