This isn’t a good start to the Raiders’ 2017 camp. Donald Penn is not showing up for the start of Raiders’ camp, unhappy with his current contract, NFL media’s Ian Rapoport is reporting.
Uh oh: #Raiders standout LT Donald Penn is not reporting for training camp, source said. He's unhappy with his contract.

While his linemates Kelechi Osemele, Rodney Hudson, and Gabe Jackson are all getting paid as premium linemen, Penn is set to make $7.1 million this season in the second year of a 2-year deal he signed with the team prior to the 2016 season.
Penn was a Pro Bowler last year at the age of 33. He just turned 34, but after giving up just one sack last season even while facing some of the top pass rushers in the league in the AFC West, he would like to be paid closer to the level of the pass protector he is.
The Raiders just released right tackle Austin Howard, saving them $3.6 million, so they have the money to transfer some of that over to Penn if even for this season.
