Training camp starts tomorrow and the Raiders’ have finally agreed to terms with Gareon Conley on his rookie contract according to multiple reports. He was the team’s selection at 23 overall and with camp looming, a deal needed to happen before 11am Saturday for him to avoid missing any camps days.
Update: The Raiders have officially announced they have signed Conley.
The former Ohio State defensive back has already missed the entirety of the pre-camp warmup. Raiders second round pick, Obi Melifonwu, signed in time to catch the final day of the precamp warmup on Thursday.
The deal for Conley is expected to be approximately $10.5 million on a 5-year deal.
With his signing, all Raiders’ drafted rookies will be on the field for the first day of camp. He was one of just two drafted rookies across the NFL yet to have signed his deal. The other is fifth overall pick, Titans wide receiver, Corey Davis.
Nothing like waiting until the last minute.
