Marshawn Lynch makes Raiders debut, has nice run, short day

New, comments

With the Rams winning the toss and opting to receive, Marshawn Lynch’s debut in an Oakland Raiders uniform would have to wait. It didn’t take long, though, as the Rams marched right down for a score.

The Raiders returned the favor with a quick touchdown drive of their own. Fans wouldn’t have to wait even until second down. Derek Carr took the snap on first down and handed it to the Oakland boy making his debut in Silver & Black.

Here’s that play.

After a 16-yard connection with Jared Cook, the ball went back to Lynch, who churned for a short run. With a Rams personal foul penalty tacked on, they were in the red zone on three plays. The next play was a pass over the middle to Lee Smith for the 19-yard touchdown.

Marshawn Lynch then trotted over to Jack Del Rio said a few words, shook his hand and headed to the locker room to change. It was as short day as it should be for the veteran. No need to put too much tread on his tires in the preseason.
