Bruce Irvin, Mario Edwards Jr come off NFI, return to practice for Raiders

New, comments

Over the first four days of Raiders training camp, they were without several key starts. Most notably Bruce Irvin and Mario Edwards Jr. Both started camp on the Non-Football Injury list and both return to Raiders practice today.

They were out with undisclosed injuries and both had been working on the side. Edwards spent much of practice with a trainer working with tackling dummies and on the exercise bike. Irvin was around the line backers and pass rushers constantly, trying to keep up with things even while he was unable to practice.

They will be welcome additions. In Irvin’s absence, Shilique Calhoun has worked with the first team while Eddie Vanderdoes and Denico Autry were the first team along the defensive line with Edwards and Jihad Ward both out. Ward is on the PUP list with a lower leg injury.

Another bit of good news is Amari Cooper back at practice. He missed Tuesday’s practice after getting banged up on Monday.
