Raiders top four draft picks, more than half their draft class missing practice Tuesday

New, comments

Two more Raiders draft picks sidelined.

Heading to the sideline today for the Raiders were third round pick defensive lineman Eddie Vanderdoes and 7th round pick offensive tackle Jylan Ware.

Ware went down in Sunday’s practice and was slow to get up. Vanderdoes’s absence is a bit of a mystery. It could be he’s getting a day off after missing all of the offseason with UCLA graduation obligations.

With their losses, the Raiders have their top four picks sidelined today and five of their nine draft picks. The others are top pick corner Gareon Conley, second round pick safety Obi Melifonwu, and fourth round offensive tackle David Sharpe.

The four rookies from the draft class who ARE practicing are fifth round LB Marquel Lee and 7th rounders safety Shalom Luani, running back Elijah Hood, and defensive lineman Treyvon Hester.

The day off Monday didn’t seem to do the Raiders injured players much good. No one returned today who was out on Sunday.

Not practicing today for the first time were Khalil Mack and undrafted rookie LaTroy Lewis.

Others still not practicing include Amari Cooper, Keith McGill, Fadol Brown, Jon Feliciano (PUP), Jihad Ward (PUP), Ben Heeney (NFI), and Cooper Helfet (NFI).
