Raiders-Jets inactives: Sean Smith is out, Gareon Conley could see extended playing time

We could see a large dose of rookie top pick Gareon Conley. It’s the first game of his career. Sean Smith (neck) is inactive with a neck injury he suffered this week.

That doesn’t mean Conley will start. It will be TJ Carrie who gets the start at right corner in place of Smith. But either way, the Raiders play nickel a good portion of the time so Conley figures to see a good amount of snaps regardless.

Also inactive are Jamize Olawale (quad) and Keith McGill (foot) despite both returning to practice full this week.
