After a shaky start for the Raiders linebackers in the season opener, a change was already needed. Credit to the Raiders coaches for making that change in week two. Or at least experimenting with a change to see how it turned out.
Seeing decreased snaps were Tyrell Adams (38%) and Marquel Lee (18%) who had split time in the opener. Getting increased time was undrafted rookie Nicholas Morrow whose snaps jumped from just 4 (6%) to 25 (45%).
Morrow was second in snaps at inside linebacker behind only Cory James who played every snap on defense (56).
In Morrow’s time on the field, he put up 3 combined tackles (2 solo) with a tackle for loss and a pass defended.
There will be tougher tests than the Jets who were without two tight ends for the game. But it’s a promising start for this former Division III star who surprised everyone and earned a spot on the roster.
