NFL week 4 odds, betting lines: Raiders underdogs in Denver and it’s probably for the best

Humble pie. That’s what Karl Joseph said the Raiders were eating after being pummeled in Washington Sunday night. It never tastes good, but it can be very good for you.

Early last season the Raiders were underdogs a lot. It seemed whenever they weren’t, they would lose. But by midseason, they were winning so much, they would have to win games in which they were favored. And they did. But this is a new season. And they have to do it all over again.

In Tennessee in the opener, the Raiders were 1.5-point underdogs. Then they beat the Titans by 10 points. Week two the Raiders were favored by 14 points and won by 25. But we’re talking about the Jets here. In Washington they were favored by 3.5 and they lost 27-10 in a game that wasn’t even that close.

Now tied with the Broncos at 2-1, they head to Denver where the Raiders are 2.5-point underdogs according to Bovada.lv courtesy of OddsShark. Last season the Raiders beat the Broncos easily but without Derek Carr in the finale they lost to them.

Both teams lost last weekend. And they it can be argued the Bills are not nearly as talented as Washington, the Broncos weren’t embarrassed. They also beat a tough Dallas team last week. They deserve to be favored at home this week. The Raiders deserve to have to prove themselves again. That’s just how it is.

It’ll be good for them to once again have something to prove.
