Source: LaTroy Lewis will not be signing onto Raiders practice squad, heads to Houston

Probably the one player the Raiders waived most fans worried would be scooped up by another team was LaTroy Lewis. While he wasn’t claimed via waivers, he will not be signing back to the Raiders practice squad according to a source.

Lewis is expected to join another team, possibly on that club’s practice squad.

Many, including myself, thought after Lewis had racked up 3.0 sacks and a fumble recovery returned 65 yards for a touchdown that he would make the Raiders’ 53-man roster. If only because with what he put on tape, other teams would show interest.

He did not make the Raiders roster, and they were hoping he would clear waivers so they could bring him back onto the practice squad. Now it appears they will lose him altogether.

As of this moment, the team he is expected to join has not been disclosed. Once it is, I will update this report.
