During his introductory press conference, Jon Gruden made it official he would be hiring Greg Olson as Offensive Coordinator, Paul Guenther as Defensive Coordinator, and Rich Bisaccia as Special Teams Coordinator.

He also added some of the reasoning behind his choices, starting with Bisaccia who coached with him all 7 years in Tampa Bay.

“There’s a real trick when you become a head coach,” said Gruden. “You can’t just go get the guys you want because they’re under contract. A lot of these guys are head coaches now, the guys that you’ve worked with. But over the years, I have always tried to keep a close group of friends and people that I have a high respect for on red alert just in case an opportunity did arise and Rich Bisaccia was our special teams coach when we won the Super Bowl. He’s a special teams coach with the Dallas Cowboys. He’s a versatile coach. He coached two positions for me in Tampa. He was a running backs coach and a special teams coach. Great leader of men. He’ll do an outstanding job here.”

Well, Bisaccia will have two jobs with the Raiders as well. He will not only be Special Teams Coordinator, he will be Gruden’s Assistant Head Coach. The team made his title official Friday.

Bisaccia had spent the past five years at the Special Teams Coordinator in Dallas with the added title of Assistant Head Coach under Head Coach Jason Garrett for the Cowboys the past three years.

Along with the team, not just Gruden himself, making the Bisaccia title official, they also announced the hirings of Olson as OC and Guenther as DC.
