Just before the weekend began, Jon Gruden added another to his coaching staff. He has brought on former Packers Offensive Coordinator Edgar Bennett as his Wide Receivers coach according to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen.
Jon Gruden adds another key hire to his Oakland Raiders staff - former Packers OC Edgar Bennett is being hired as receivers coach, according to league sources.

Bennett, a former NFL running back, has been the Packers’ Offensive Coordinator the past three seasons.
After spending most of his 7-year NFL career in Green Bay, he has spent his entire 13-year coaching career with the Packers; first as running backs coach (2005-10), then wide receivers coach (2011-14), then OC (2015-17).
It does seem a tad bit strange to me that a guy who spent his entire college and pro playing career at running back and the first six years as a coach of running backs would now be a wide receivers coach. But, hey, Jordy Nelson had his breakout season in Bennett’s first year on the job and in his final season as the Packers’ wide receivers coach Nelson hit 1519 yards and 13 TD’s and Randall Cobb hit 1287 yards with 12 TD’s. Hard to argue numbers like that.
