For second time this month Raiders add a long snapper to the roster

NFL: AUG 31 Preseason - Seahawks at Raiders

It’s looking more and more like the Raiders could be moving forward without long snapper Jon Condo. Oakland’s long time long snapper’s contract is up and the Raiders have added two long snappers on reserve/future contracts this month prepping for his departure.

Friday they brought back long snapper Andrew East, who had spent the past two training camps with the team as the emergency back up plan for Condo. East returns again. And again, he’s not alone.

Earlier this month the Raiders signed another player with a directional last name; former Cal Bears long snapper, Bradley Northnagel.

Three’s definitely a crowd at a position like long snapper. Even two at this point of the offseason would suggest the team is moving on from the 36-year-old Condo.

Even more so than the additions is the fact that Condo signed a one-year deal last offseason which allowed for his contract to end the same time as Sebastian Janikowski’s.

A lot of fans seemed shocked (!) I would put Condo in the ‘Let ‘em Walk’ category among the team’s re-sign priorities. But that’s just what it appears the Raiders are ready to do.
