While contract talks in Miami are said to be moving slowly as the Dolphins attempt to keep Jarvis Landry from hitting free agency, Landry has been in Orlando showing off his skills. He’s also been Schmoozing with players from other teams who would probably like to have him sign with them.
One such player is Raiders quarterback Derek Carr who could see a position open up on his team, making for an attractive landing spot for a guy like Landry.
The Pro Bowl practices were this week giving Carr and Landry plenty of time to get to know each other and the two seem to be hitting it off.
“He’s a great quarterback, a guy that I respect, admire; you guys have a great one in y’all hands,” Landry told Raiders.com. “Make sure you take care of him, keep taking care of him.”
It was Carr who would throw for Landry in the Best Hands competition in the Pro Bowl Skills Showdown this week. The two paired up well, with Landry very nearly winning it.

Had he made the diving catch at the end, he would have won it for the second year in a row. Last year there was no diving catch at the end.
Carr and Landry were the heroes for the AFC. Carr won the Precision Passing competition with a record 21 points (see that here), then Landry won the drone drop and was the last man standing in the dodge ball game to pull out the come-from-behind win for the AFC. Carr posted the winning moment on Instagram, saying “Appreciate ya, Jarvis.” to which Landry responded “We came to win, I told ya.”
Landry caught 112 passes for the Dolphins last season, while they tried to cobble together a competitive club despite having the unretired Jay Cutler at quarterback most of the season. Joining Carr in Oakland could be a wise career move for Landry.
