We’re still probably at least four days from knowing officially that Jon Gruden is taking the Raiders head coaching job. And at this rate, we’ll know his entire staff before anyone will say with certainty he has the job (he does).
As we’ve worked our way through the coordinators, we’re moving onto position coaches. The latest is that of running backs coach, which the Raiders are said to be targeting former Cowboys RB coach, Gary Brown, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
As Jon Gruden rounds up his future #Raiders staff, one more target: #Cowboys RB coach Gary Brown. He’s a free agent. ... Brown could go from Zeke Elliott to #BeastMode.

Brown had held the job with the Cowboys the past five seasons. Prior to that he held the same position with the Browns (no relation) for four seasons from 2009-12. So, he’s well established.
He played running back in the NFL for 8 seasons, originally an 8th round draft pick by the Houston Oilers out of Penn State. He coached six seasons of college ball prior to his time as an NFL coach.
