After seven weeks of the NFL season, the Raiders are really starting to look like the Cleveland Browns. In more ways than one. They have just one win on the season and now have a haul of selections in the next draft, including three first round picks.
The latest comes from the Cowboys in the Amari Cooper trade. They also have one coming from Chicago in the Khalil Mack trade. And of course, their own pick, which figures to be the highest pick of all by a fairly wide margin.
Currently the Raiders own pick is at fourth overall according to tankathon.com. Here are their current draft slots in the first three rounds:
Round 1, pick 4
Round 1, pick 8 (from DAL)
Round 1, pick 15 (from CHI)
Round 2, pick 36
Round 3, pick 68
The Raiders are one of four one-win teams in the league, but the only one who has had their bye, which is why they are at the fourth pick right now. They face two of the other one-win in the next few weeks in the Cardinals and 49ers. The other is the Giants who currently hold the number one overall pick.
This week the Raiders face the 2-5 Colts, who are just below them with the 5th overall pick currently. So, how the Raiders perform the next few weeks will have double the impact on their draft position.
Key draft order games this week:
New York Giants (1) vs Washington
San Francisco 49ers (2) at Arizona Cardinals (3)
Indianapolis Colts (5) at Oakland Raiders (4)
Cleveland Browns (7) at Pittsburgh Steelers
Dallas Cowboys are on bye
