The latest rookie draft pick to get the call is seventh rounder Marcell Ateman who has been brought up from the practice squad. His addition puts eight drafted rookies on the Raiders active roster. That’s the same number of original Raiders drafted players from every previous draft combined.

That also means the only 2018 drafted rookie not on the Raiders active roster is 6th round linebacker Azeem Victor. He was waived in the first round of cuts and opted to sign onto the Buccaneers practice squad. Currently he is on the Seahawks practice squad.

Ateman is the 8-man both in his number (88) and his spot on the Raiders active roster among his draft classmates. The others are Kolton Miller, PJ Hall, Brandon Parker, Arden Key, Nick Nelson, Maurice Hurst, and Johnny Townsend.

The spot for Ateman opened up with the team trading former 4th overall pick Amari Cooper to Dallas for a 2019 first round pick.

Along with Ateman, the team called up offensive lineman Denver Kirkland from the practice squad. They also added running back James Butler to the practice squad.
