Another veteran Raiders player is checking out. Cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie has announced he is retiring immediately. He made the announcement on Instagram.
“Today I retire, today my NFL journey ends, and I thank God for keep[ing] me all these years.” said Rodgers-Cromartie. “A kid with one kid and no college offers lasted 11 years in the NFL. I played in Super Bowls, Pro Bowls, and did many more in this league. I’m at peace with my decision. Y’all may not understand that that’s kool!!! I wanna thank everyone for their support. Never forget Mr. Oooou himself. Yessuh!!!”
Rodgers-Cromartie looked very good at times this season for the Raiders. He appeared in all 7 of their games, starting one game. But last week he didn’t see a snap on defense, playing only on special teams. At the age of 32, and on a team that is going nowhere, this decision seems like a logical one.
