NFL: Indianapolis Colts at Oakland Raiders Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Another loss for the Raiders. This time to a team that isn’t as talented as the Seahawks the week before or the Chargers the week before that. And the only team the Raiders beat this season just fired their head coach. That was the Browns and head coach Hue Jackson who the Raiders had to come back and beat in overtime.

The power ranking result is predictable.

The Raiders stay parked in the back lot. Up 28-21 in the fourth quarter, good vibes pervaded the Oakland Coliseum. It was akin to olden times, like when Ken Stabler was throwing floaters to Freddy Stick Hands in the corner of the end zone, or Mark McGwire and Jose Canseco were bashing forearms, or Rich Gannon was peeling off Jerry Rice and Tim Brown to find Jerry Porter downtown. Then the Oakland defense reminded everyone that it was 2018. Hey, at least these guys are still playing for their head coach ... and quarterback.

Elite pass-rushers are hard to find, just like Jon Gruden said -- after trading away Khalil Mack. He also noted that Oakland's defense was not so hot with Mack last season. Here's something else that is decidedly not so hot: the Raiders' league-low seven sacks. That's 20 fewer than the league-leading Ravens. In fact, seven players have more sacks than the Raiders as a team, and 10 players have at least as many. Yikes. -- Paul Gutierrez

Treat — intentionally gutted team still trying to serve up what may be one final victory to Oakland fan base that may have to say goodbye after season.

Make plans for Thursday night. You don’t have to watch Raiders-49ers. It’s fine.

A couple years ago, the popular thought was that it was fun and good for the Raiders to be back. Well, on the flip side, it stinks that they’re back to the bottom of the league. Their fans are good and deserve better before their team leaves Oakland for Vegas.

The Raiders showed a lot of life offensively coming out of the bye to hang with the Colts for a while, but their run and pass defenses have become equally atrocious.
