This won’t matter for tonight’s game, but the Raiders are actually bringing back a former Reggie McKenzie draft pick. David Sharpe, who the team selected out of Florida in the fourth round of the 2017 draft was claimed off waivers from the Houston Texans according to ESPN’s Field Yates.

Sharpe started two games at left tackle as a rookie in place of the injured Donald Penn. The first start he looked great. The second start he looked terrible. He was battling for a roster spot at right tackle this offseason and ultimately was among those waived in the regular season roster cuts on September 2.

On September 12, the Texans signed him to their practice squad and by September 25, he was called up to the regular season roster. Sharpe appeared in two games this season with no starts. The Texans waived him, likely to make room for someone else with the hopes of placing Sharpe back on the practice squad. But the Raiders didn’t give them that chance.

Because he was claimed off waivers, Sharpe will be on the roster. He will replace tackle TJ Clemmings who will be placed on injured reserve.
