The practice squad is like a revolving door for some players and should a player get in good favor with a team, they can carve out a decent career going back and forth between the practice squad to the roster. That’s what life has been like for Raider former undrafted free agents James Cowser and Johnny Holton.
The two of them were signed back to the Raiders practice squad Wednesday; Holton a day after being waived by the team, which came a week after being called up from the practice squad. Cowser two weeks since being waived from the practice squad which was a week after he had been on the active roster.
Since being initially signed in 2016, Cowser has been signed to the practice squad four times, called up to the roster twice, and waived three times. Holton spent all of 2016 and 2017 on the active roster and this season is on his second stint with the practice squad, having spent last week on the roster.
In order to make room for the two on the practice squad, the Raiders waived WR ArDarius Stewart and CB Arrion Springs.
