Wednesday college football bowl games open thread

Greetings, Raider Nation! College football took a short break for the Christmas holiday, but it’s back in full effect today with three games on the schedule, all with funny names as tradition decrees.

First up, live from the Cotton Bowl at 10:30 AM Pacific, is the Servpro First Responder Bowl, between Boston College and Boise State. The Broncos are ranked #25 in the country and quarterback Brett Rypien could be a name to watch for.

Then, at 2:!5 PM, the Quick Lane Bowl live from Detroit pits Minnesota against Georgia Tech. What a reward these kids got for their season, to play all year for the chance to visit beautiful downtown Detroit at the end. It just doesn’t get any better than that.

Finally, at 6 PM, there’s the Cheez-It Bowl live from Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona. I am not making that name up, and frankly there are few things in life better than a bowl full of Cheez-Its, by God. This one will be of interest to many Raider fans, as the Cal Golden Bears take on TCU in what could be a high-scoring and exciting game.
