Raiders bring back Damontre Moore, waive Fadol Brown

Sunday Fadol Brown had two offsides penalties, both on third down. It looks like those false steps just got him unemployed.

“We can’t do that. We can’t have penalties,” Gruden said Monday. “You can’t fumble the ball and you can’t do those things and win in this league. I appreciate his effort. I’ve always appreciated his effort. He loves to play, he loves to compete, but he’s had some penalties. I think he had two yesterday. You have to watch the ball. You can’t see or hear too much, you have to watch the ball. That hurt us yesterday.”

Brown was a 2016 undrafted free agent for the Raiders who spent his first two seasons on the team’s practice squad. He appeared in 8 games this season for the Raiders, recording 17 combined tackles and a couple QB hits.

That same training camp in 2016 that Brown first attended in Oakland, he was teammates with Damontre Moore, a former third round pick by the Giants (81 overall). He was waived by the Raiders in camp the day after the 6-5, 250-pounder got into a fight with the 5-8, 200-pound Jalen Richard. Moore was made an example of as the coaching staff warned against fighting in camp.

He would play four games for the Seahawks that year, recording a half sack. Then he played three games in Dallas early last season and hasn’t played a down of football since. He hasn’t had a full sack since 2015.
