Starter: Derek Carr

Backup: Connor Cook

Free agent: EJ Manuel

Once again, Derek Carr is the unquestioned starter. He will be entering the first year of his big five-year extension which he signed last offseason that made him the NFL’s first ever $25 million man.

Connor Cook enters his third NFL offseason. The first two the former 4th round pick had every opportunity to be named the primary backup behind Carr, but both times was beaten out by a veteran.

Last year that veteran was Manuel, who was signed to a 1-year deal. He would come in for Derek Carr when he went out with a back injury, nearly pull out a win over the Broncos, and then start the following week in a loss to the Ravens. He showed he can be a competent backup and may have a small market because of it.

Condition: Stable

The only position need for the Raiders is to sign another veteran backup for Carr. He will have all the coaching he could need in order to have a bounce back season in 2018 after a down year in 2017 under offensive coordinator, Todd Downing. They nab a solid veteran as the backup and they are all set.
