Vontae Davis leaves Oakland without deal to ‘reflect on (his) visits’

Many were hoping when free agent cornerback Vontae Davis visited the Raiders’ Alameda facility today, they wouldn’t let him leave without a deal. But he did. That isn’t the end of it, though, as he tells ESPN’s Josina Anderson he will be heading home to “reflect on (his) visits for a couple days or so.”

Davis also visited the 49ers, but he said he has “other teams interested too” which would suggest it’s more than just the Raiders and 49ers who will be vying for his services.

The 29-year-old former 2-time Pro Bowler was cleared last week from surgery he had on his injured groin late last season. He has 22 career interceptions and 106 passes defended in 9 NFL seasons in Miami and Indianapolis.

It’s possible we could hear where he has chosen to sign by Friday aka ‘Reggie Friday’. That would be a good time to know because the scouting combine opens next Tuesday.
