We have a specific date now of when we will find out whether the Raiders will be picking at 9 or 10 in April’s draft. That decision will be made by coin toss at the NFL Scouting Combine and it will happen next Friday, March 2 according to Ben Volin of the Boston Globe.
Big News -- the coin flip to determine the 9th and 10th draft picks between the Raiders and 49ers will take place next Friday at the Combine.

It affects the Patriots, since they have the 49ers' 2nd rounder. If OAK wins the toss, Pats will pick 41st. If SF wins, Pats pick 43rd.
The coin toss is needed because the Raiders and 49ers finished the season with identical 6-10 records and strength of schedule. The winner receives the 9th pick in the upcoming draft and the loser the 10th overall pick. The teams alternate in each round after, which means the loser of the coin toss will have the higher pick in round two, the lower pick in round 3, and so on through all seven rounds. But the most important one is that top pick.
All teams received their compensatory picks today, giving the Raiders their pick total. That means as of Friday we will know the final draft order.
