Last week the Raiders hosted free agent former Pro Bowl cornerback Vontae Davis. He left Oakland without a deal, saying he was going home to ‘reflect on (his) visits’. He took the weekend and it looks like he’s made his decision. He’s headed to Buffalo.

Had the Raiders been able to add Davis, they could have gotten a jump on free agency. Davis was a street free agent, having been released late last season after opting to undergo surgery on his injured groin. He was cleared by doctors about a week ago and immediately took free agent visits to San Francisco, Oakland, and apparently Buffalo as well.
Now if the Raiders hope to bulk up their cornerback group -- and they absolutely need to — they will have to wait until free agency opens on March 14. The free agent negotiating period begins March 12. And there is a pretty good looking group of corners who figure to be available so all is certainly not lost.
