There was no question the Raiders wanted Trumaine Johnson. They actively pursued him as he was reportedly their top priority. His price tag was always going to be steep leading to the major question being if the Raiders would be willing or able to pay it. In the end, they were not. Johnson will sign with the Jets according to multiple reports.
His deal is for a reported $15 million per season. Which is absolutely insane.
The #Jets are expected to sign CB Trumaine Johnson to a deal worth roughly $15M per year, source said.

His signing comes on the heels of Malcolm Butler signing on with the Titans for an astounding $12.2 million per season on a 5-year deal. That’s also quite pricey.
There was a run on cornerbacks today, taking a once loaded group down to bare bones.
As of this moment, no other team has signed TJ Carrie away, but with other options dwindling, the Raiders would be wise to try to hold onto him.
Should Carrie get away — and the only reported interest comes from the Broncos — some decent options still left include Prince Amukamara, Patrick Robinson, and EJ Gaines. I wouldn’t be surprised if I was updated this piece quickly to say those three are gone as well.
UPDATE: Amukamara is nearing a deal to remain with the Bears.
CB Prince Amukamara is close to a deal to return to the Bears, source says.
